OSHA Sets October 1 as Startup Date for – Most Portions of Asbestos Standard

LOS ANGELES - On June 29, Fed-OSHA announced it was extending the start-up dates of most provisions of the new asbestos standards until October 1. The standards cover employee exposures in general industry, construction and shipyards. The notice of corrections and clarifications appeared in the June 29 Federal Register at pp. 33974 et seq.The lower exposure limit of 0.1 fibers per cubic centimeter took effect on October 11, 1994, but the other provisions have been long delayed.
