Public Hearing Aug. 18 on Long-Sought Update for Petroleum Safety Orders

Cal/OSH Standards Board will hold a public hearing Aug. 18 in Glendale on a proposal to update the Petroleum Safety Orders (PSO) that dates back to 1999.The changes would revise PSO 6505, 6533, 6551 and new 6552, covering drilling and production, and 6755, 6845, 6857 and new 6858. These orders cover refining, transportation and handling.The proposal is the result of a 1999 petition by Western States Petroleum Association to have the PSO reflect changes in national consensus standards
