SAN DIEGO -- Former Cal/OSHA Chief John Howard paid a visit to his home town last week to address the Pacific Southwest Safety and Health Conference.Now the director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Howard has spent the nine months or so since he joined NIOSH settling into his new career and doing a bit of world traveling. He told COR he enjoys the new job, but misses the California weather.
