SAN FRANCISCO - Governor Pete Wilson has signed legislation to permit continued use of methyl bromide, a registered pesticide in California, until December 31, 1997. The governor called the pesticide essential for the export and import of more than 70 agricultural commodities.Because methyl bromide is both volatile and toxic, the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) has extensive and comprehensive restrictions and permit use conditions for its use as a pre-plant fumigant, a post-harvest commodity
