An 18-year-old worker died Sept. 25 at Cananuiga Winery in Escalon after he fell into a nearly empty fermentation tank.The exact cause of death for Jose Padilla had not been determined at press time. He had been hired by the winery through the Plus Group temporary agency, and was employed as a barrel turner.
