BERKELEY - Private sector employers reported a decline in the rate of injuries and illnesses on the job in 1994 ---8.4 cases for every 100 equivalent full-time workers compared to 8.5 cases and a total of 6.7 million injuries and illnesses in 1993.Of the 6.8 million non-fatal injuries and illnesses in 1994, nearly 6.3 million were injuries while 515,000 were work-related illnesses, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported.Slightly more than 3 million injuries and illnesses were serio
