Digest of COSHAB's decision dated August 2, 1976, Docket No. 76-R6D1-006. Gerald Winerman, Administrative Law Judge.
This appeal was denied.
"Section 4070(a) requires guarding of belt and pulley drives. The Appellant admitted that the belt and pulley drives of twelve sewing machines were unguarded and that there was an area of exposure to employees. The Appellant contended that the likelihood of an accident occurring was very low because of the relative inaccessibility of the V-belts. Regrettably, accidents occur even in remote circumstances. The (nonserious) violation was established."
A penalty of $55 was affirmed.
