V-Belt and Pulley Drives, Guarding [4077[a] Construed]. Appellant was found in serious violation of 8 Cal. Adm. Code 4077(a) where a maintenance employee lost the tips of two fingers while checking the tension on a chain drive. The employee had removed the guarding to adjust the tension on the chain drive and used his fingers to check the adjustment rather than an extension tool. The Division presented evidence of four instances of a violation of 4077(a).
