Excavations and Trenches, Exposure to Moving Ground, Explained. Appellant's employee was working in a trench that was five feet seven inches deep. Steel plates were placed over the trench and traffic passed overhead. The trench was not effectively guarded against the hazards of moving ground, and the Appellant's management employees knew of the violation.
