Appellant was the window washing contractor for a 20-story building at 100 Bush Street in San Francisco. Since the building was built in 1929, the method of cleaning the windows was by standing on a 3 1/2 inch sill that had an eight or nine degree slope, and attaching a safety belt to double brace hooks located at the side of each of the steel casing window sills.
