A general violation of 3385(a) was established where it was shown that canvas shoes and/or ordinary leather street shoes, worn on occasion by employees at the site, were not appropriate footgear in light of the hazards inherent in Employer's metal fabrication shop, consisting of possible crushing by heavy objects and burning by molten slag resulting from gas torch operations.
