On penalty-only appeals, penalties of $225 each were affirmed for two serious violations: 1640(b)(5) (light-trade wooden scaffolds) and 1680(c) (circular saws). Employer had scaffold platforms with openings not necessary for passage of workers and material. It violated a prohibition against automatic blade guards on portable circular saws being wedged back to make them inoperative.
