FALL PROTECTION - ELEVATED AERIAL DEVICES

CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, 3648(o) (2000) - An employee working in an elevated aerial bucket was not secured at all times by a safety belt and lanyard, a general violation. His contention that he detached the lanyard as the Division's inspector approached, fearing for his own safety from an unknown stranger, was rejected. The inspector's evidence, that before he approached, the worker had detached his lanyard to facilitate reaching wires, was found more credible.
