REPORTING - SERIOUS INJURY
CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, 342(a) (2000) - Employer did not report a serious injury to an employee, a cat bite, at all. Its contentions that the bite might not have occurred on the job, and that it could not have learned that the bite was serious, were rejected. The fact that the injured employee did not testify at the hearing was rejected as a reason to set aside the ALJ's findings. The ALJ's finding of a violation was affirmed by the Appeals Board.
