REPORTING - SERIOUS INJURY

CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, 342(a); and LAB. 6409.1(b) (2000) - An ALJ found that Employer failed to report a serious job-related injury to the Division, relying on the fact that the fire department had reported the accident. The Appeals Board affirmed the violation, finding that multiple parties are required by various Title 8 and Labor Code sections to report serious injuries; a report made by one party does not satisfy the obligation of other involved parties.
