FIELD SANITATION - TOILETS AND HANDWASHING FACILITIES REQUIRED

CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, 3457(c)(2)(A) (2001) - Employer's failure to provide toilet and handwashing facilities to its field workers was not a serious violation, as the evidence of probable serious illness caused by their lack was insufficient.

PENALTIES - REASONABLENESS

LAB. 6712(d)(1) (2001) - The $10,800 penalty attached to an alleged serious violation of field sanitation requirements was reduced to the mandatory $750 when the violation was reclassified as general.
