MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT - DE-ENERGIZING DURING CLEANING
CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, § 3314(a) (2002) - Employer's printer operator failed to de-energize the machine before cleaning a roller, instead jogging the roller to wipe it with a rag, and was seriously injured. Nor did Employer supply an extension tool if the cleaning had to be done with the roller moving. As it was aware of the practice, Employer was responsible for a serious, accident-related injury.
