MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT - DE-ENERGIZING OR LOCKING OUT DURING CLEANING
CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, § 3314(a) (2002) - The Appeals Board agreed with the ALJ that Employer's drill press operator, who was sweeping up chips and shavings around the machine, was exposed to the hazard of inadvertent movement by the drill, which was not de-energized. The sweeping of drilling debris constituted cleaning for the purposes of the cited section.
