MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT - DE-ENERGIZING DURING SERVICING
CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, § 3314(a) (2002) - An employee received a serious eye injury when he failed to properly release the air pressure in the hose of a pneumatic tool before attempting a repair. This constituted a failure to de-energize the equipment. But the violation's serious classification was not appropriate because Employer could not have known of it with reasonable diligence.
