BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS - BLOOD TESTING
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 5193(f)(3)(B)(1) (2003) - While a bloodborne pathogen disease occurs when the virus is established in the body and, once it is established, there is a substantial probability that the virus will cause serious harm and/or death, the Division in this case did not establish a causal connection between Employer's failure to test the source individual's blood and any manifestation of HBV, HCV or HIV in others. The violation for failure to test the source individual's blood was not properly classified as serious.
