POINTS OF OPERATION – PRESS BRAKES GUARDED
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 4214(a) (2014) – The Board reversed the ALJ’s decision that there was no evidence that an employee was exposed to an unguarded point of operation on a press brake. The Division established the serious classification of the violation.

POINTS OF OPERATION – HYDRAULIC POWER PRESSES (PUNCH PRESSES) GUARDED
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 4215(a) (2014) – The Division established that Employer’s punch press was unguarded at the point of operation. Employer admitted to employee exposure on a weekly basis. The Division supported the serious classification of the violation; thus, it was reclassified from general.

WOODWORKING MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT – BELT SANDERS (CLASS B), NIP POINTS
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 4312 (2014) – The Division established employee exposure to an unguarded horizontal belt sander. The violation was properly classified as serious.
