HAZARDOUS ENERGY CONTROL – SEPARATE PROCEDURAL STEPS FOR SAFE LOCKOUT/TAGOUT
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 3314(g)(2)(A) (2011) - Employer did not have an adequate written hazardous energy control procedure for blocking out a tank hatch and locking out pneumatic tank press controls. 

PERMIT-REQUIRED CONFINED sPACES - HOST EMPLOYER AND CONTRACTOR
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 5157(c)(8) (2011) - Employer failed to inform another business that Employer was using employees of the other business for permit-required confined space entries. 

PERMIT-REQUIRED CONFINED SPACES - ENTRY PERMIT
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 5157(f) (2011) - The evidence did not support a violation of the required contents of permits for employee entry into a confined space.

 

HAZARDOUS ENERGY CONTROL – CLEANING, SERVICING AND ADJUSTING OPERATIONS
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 3314(c) (2011) - Because of the absence of evidence that, during the normal course of events, an employee would be exposed to a rotating auger as a result of a short drain pipe, Employer did not violate the safety order. 

MOVING PARTS OF MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT - GUARDING
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 4002(a) (2011) - In light of the definitions of “guarded” and “accidental contact” in the applicable regulations, Employer’s drain pipe guarding satisfied §4002(a).
