HEAT ILLNESS PREVENTION - WRITTEN PROVISIONS
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 3395(e)(3) (2010) - Employer’s heat illness prevention program lacked written provisions for complying with the standard, contacting medical services in an emergency, or ensuring that, in an emergency, clear and precise directions to the worksite could be provided to emergency responders.

HEAT ILLNESS PREVENTION - EMPLOYEE TRAINING
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 3395(e)(1) (2010) - Employer did not provide training to an employee under its heat illness prevention program. The violation was properly classified as serious where the Division proved that it was substantially probable that the lack of heat illness prevention training could result in an untrained employee suffering a heat illness which results in death, as happened here.
