SACRAMENTO -- At the Cal/OSH Standards Board's public hearing on Feb. 20, former ironworker Nicholas Garcia urged the board to reconsider a decision to leave his proposal to require protection for ironworkers who handle rebar out of a rule making package addressing the hazards of reinforcing steel, commonly known as rebar.The package would revise the Construction Safety Orders (CSO).
