AB 1653 Clears First Hurdle, as “Safe Jobs for Youth Month” Begins

SACRAMENTO -- The Assembly Committee on Labor and Employment on April 21 approved Assembly Bill 1653, sponsored by Audie Bock (G-Oakland), which would create the California Resource Center on Safe Jobs for Youth. It is now in the hands of the chamber's Committee on Appropriations, which will consider it May 12.May is an appropriate month to be hearing the bill. Advocates for young workers have dubbed it "Safe Jobs for Youth Month." The awareness campaign was one of 25 recommendations made last year
