Fed-OSHA Gets Sizable Settlement in Alabama Chemical Leak Case

SACRAMENTO -- The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration simultaneously issued citations and signed a settlement agreement with Celanese Chemicals of Bucks, Ala., stemming from a fatal accident last year. The company agreed to accept five unclassified violations of OSHA standards and fines of $250,000.The agreement follows an OSHA inspection after an accident at the facility that killed one worker and seriously injured another.
