Lost-Workday Cases Continue Decline

SACRAMENTO -- Injuries and illnesses resulting in days away from work continued their decade-long decline in 2001, according to statistics just released by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).More than 1.5 million injuries and illnesses required recuperation away from work beyond the day of the incident nationally in 2001, the latest year for which statistics are available. Data for California have not been released yet.
