ELECTRICAL – QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL WORKERS
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 2940(c) (2013) – Employer’s welders were not “qualified electrical workers” as defined in §2700. The Division established that the welders were “working on” a train system’s third rail. However, no violation was established because the third rail was de-energized within the meaning of §2700.
ELECTRICAL – WORK NEAR ENERGIZED EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 2944(c)(1) (2013) – Welders who were not qualified electrical workers used conducting tools to weld the second running rail on or near the third rail. However, no violation was established because the third rail was de-energized.
