INJURY AND ILLNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM - DOCUMENTATION
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 3203(b)(2) (2010) - Employer failed to maintain documentation of gantry crane operation safety training given to a new hire. Regarding an experienced supervisor, the Board inferred that such training was provided more than one year prior to the investigation; thus, the Division failed to establish a violation with respect to the supervisor.
CRANES (EXCEPT BOOM-TYPE MOBILE CRANES) - TRUCK WHEEL GUARDS AND RAIL SWEEPS
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 4906(b) (2010) - Employer operated a gantry crane equipped with wheel guards that did not prevent a crush hazard. The clearance between the guard and the wheels’ running surface did not afford maximum protection against crushing injuries.
