DeBruce Settles Grain-Blast Case

DeBruce Grain, Inc., owner of a Haysville, Kan., grain storage facility that exploded in June 1998, killing seven workers and injuring 10 others, agreed to pay $685,000 as part of a settlement of citations issued by Fed-OSHA.The agency alleged 25 willful violations of the federal grain handling standard and proposed penalties of $1.7 million.
