OSHA Corrects, Amends and Clarifies – Its Logging Rule

LOS ANGELES - Modifications of 29 CFR 1910.266, Logging Operations, were published in the Federal Register on September 8, 1995. They are to take effect immediately.The final rule was first published on October 12, 1994. OSHA subsequently stayed it because of challenges by manufacturers of power equipment and western logging associations.The clarifying language will, Fed-OSHA says, respond to questions raised about certain provisions in the rule and provide additional information about others.
