CRANES – INSPECTIONS, SEVERE SERVICE
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 1613.7 (2014) – By failing to halt operation of a crane following an arc flash until inspection by a qualified person, Employer violated the safety order. The individual who inspected the crane was not a “qualified person.”
HIGH-VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL SAFETY – PREVENTING ACCIDENTS DUE TO PROXIMITY TO OVERHEAD LINES
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 2946(b)(1) (2014) – Employer failed to observe minimum clearance over electrical lines, which resulted in an arc flash.
