Flash Report: Cal/OSHA Appeals Board: $5,000 Penalty Not Automatic For Reporting Violations

In a seminal ruling on key provisions of Cal/OSHA's fatality and serious injury reporting requirements, the Cal/OSH Appeals Board ruled that $5,000 penalties the Division of Occupational Safety and Health believes are automatic are in fact not mandatory.
